Yves and his two siblings lost their parents to tragedy. His mother was taken by a heart attack, and his father died in a car accident. Left without family or land, Yves has been dependent on Land of a Thousand Hills for housing, food, clothing and school fees.
He is a good scholar, with the long-term goal of becoming a mechanic. Yves is also a talented soccer player, and currently plays with the Musanze Football Academy. During his holidays, he works at the Ruli Mountain Washing Station and is a valued member of the team there.
